Hello Out There!
I have been wanting to start a blog for .... longer than I would like to say. But.. I really don't like putting my business out there except to select friends and family. But, I have a passion for helping others, so I am putting myself out there to help those I have not met yet. I hope my journey and learnings can help even one person. That would be worth the uncomfortableness of me feeling vulnerable. WORTH IT!!!!
Ok, so back to a bit about me and the purpose of this blog….
The reason I have wanted to to write a blog for so long, is really to share with folks some of the things I have experienced and learned from. Shingles at 37, Rosacea at 38 and the signs I have had all along but never knew. Going Gluten free and how I wish I knew that was what has caused me so much angst for as long as I can remember.... And also to share what has worked for me with pups, self care, and listening to my inner me, etc. etc. Really a hodge podge of things that I hope can help anyone who needs to hear it.
I have been on my own since I was in my mid teens. I worked full time, graduated HS early with honors and started college early and finished in 4.5 years with 2 bachelor’s degrees. Not a big deal for many, but for me, it meant the world. I knew the choices I made would impact how I wanted to live my life. So getting an education was important for me in my journey.
Through college, I paid the bills by working in the restaurant industry. I loved it, and met some of the best people during that time. After college, I landed a job with a friend’s boyfriend at a mortgage company. And the rest is history…. Almost 20 years later, I am still in the mortgage industry. Hard to get out once you are in. But it has been a great career for me and I am truly blessed I ‘fell into it’ way back then.
I met my husband 2 decades ago when he was my friends roommate and then became my room mate. You don’t date your room mate, but.. finally we coudn’t help ourselves. And 21 years later, here we are. The man deserves so many medals for more things that I have space for. Just know, he stuck around, when most wouldn’t have, and continues to love me even when I am being a little
sh— for no good reason!!
We are dog parents to 3 dogs that are now all considered Senior (9, 12, 15). We are a bit in denial on their ages, but we will continue to love them until it's time for them to cross the rainbow bridge to unlimited treats and past sisters and friends. I am sure many more in the future.
You will notice the pineapples and Hawaiian motif... my mom is from the big island and it's rubbed off a bit :)
I could share more, but that is enough to make me want to throw up… so.. I will save more for another day.
I hope to see you again my new friends. And I hope my page can show you light from afar.
Remember how amazing you are! You are perfect just the way you are, even when you are working on becoming a better version of you.
Your Forever Pineapple Friend from afar….
